As Alberta’s capital city, Edmonton is a growing and vibrant urban
centre. Edmonton is Canada’s northern-most metropolis and is just a
short drive away from the Rocky Mountains. With a population of over
one million people spread over 684 square kilometers (264 sq miles),
the City of Edmonton has a low population density but enjoys all of

A little known fact about Edmonton is that it has the largest
stretch of urban park space in North America (7,400 hectares).
